Dear Colleague:

On behalf of the World Congress Fund Review Task Force of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), it is my pleasure to invite your society to participate in the 2026 Strauss & Katz World Congress Fund Scholarship program. This program offers a limited number of scholarships to dermatologists from countries outside the United States and Canada to attend the AAD Annual Meeting. The 2026 AAD Annual Meeting will take place March 27–31, 2026, in Denver, Colorado, USA.

Eligibility Criteria

The criteria for scholarship applicants are as follows:

• Applicant must either currently be in dermatology residency or have graduated from a dermatology residency within three years prior to the meeting date (March 2026). Applicants who are not in either of these categories will not be considered.
• Only nationals of low-income economies are eligible.
• Applicants must be endorsed by a National Dermatologic Society.  A signed letter of endorsement from the society is required to be attached to the on-line application and be in Adobe Acrobat portable document format preferred (PDF). View a sample letter
• Applicant must submit an abstract for consideration. Published abstracts will not be accepted.
• Priority will be given to applicants who have never attended an AAD meeting.
• Previous scholarship recipients who have attended an in-person AAD meeting are not eligible.

Scholarship Award

• Complimentary registration to attend the 2026 AAD Annual Meeting March 27-31 in Denver Colorado, USA
• $1,500 - $2,500 USD stipend to assist with travel expenses to the meeting
• Invitation to attend the International Scholarship Reception & Dinner with AAD Leadership on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
• Accepted poster abstracts will be displayed electronically on the AAD Website and the AAD Mobile App

The deadline to apply is July 4, 2025.  

Please note that a letter of support does not guarantee the granting of an award. The World Congress Fund Review Task Force evaluates all eligible applications and selects scholarship recipients based on merit and available funding. Applicants will be assessed on the quality of their application and accompanying abstract. Priority will be given to applicants who have never attended an AAD meeting. No more than two applicants per country will be considered for the award.
