Dear International League of Dermatology Societies (ILDS) Member Organizations,
I am the incoming president of the Association of Professors of Dermatology (APD), the United States organization representing dermatology physician educators. We would like to invite dermatology educators from around the world to submit an abstract to present at our Innovations in Dermatology Education from Around the World session on Monday, June 21 from 13:30 – 17:30 at the Expo Guadalajara, Guadalajara, Mexico, during the 26th World Congress of Dermatology. I am writing to ask you to apply to present at our session, or forward this message to other non-US dermatology educators in your organizations who might be interested in presenting at this session to apply using the link below.
The objectives of the APD include providing forums and networking opportunities for the exchange of dermatology education ideas and innovations. As a member of the International League of Dermatology Societies (ILDS), the APD will host a half-day session at the World Congress of Dermatology.
This session will focus on excellent dermatology education abstract submissions from around the world. Abstracts from any aspect of dermatology education are welcome. This year, the special themes of interest sought for presentations include:
- Innovations in clinical dermatology education
- Innovations in pediatric dermatology education
- Innovations in dermatopathology education
- Innovations in dermatologic surgery and procedural education
- Artificial intelligence and other technology integration into dermatologic education
- Innovation in continuing education for practicing dermatologists
- Innovations in dermatology learner assessments
Please submit an abstract if you have information to share regarding this special theme. All those attending the World Congress who have interest in dermatology education are welcome to attend this session.
Abstracts must include the title, authors' full names, institutions' full name(s), and geographic location. Body of the abstracts should be no more than 300 words. Submission deadline is October 1, 2026 (Submissions must include contact person, phone number, and Email addresses). Please submit your submissions through this Wufoo form >>
https://amebiz.wufoo.com/forms/2027-wcd-innovations-in-dermatology-education/
Selection for presentation is competitive. Each submission will be scored by a panel of APD judges, rated on 5 factors: Interest for an international audience of dermatology teachers, Innovation, Data-driven nature of the abstract, Connection to any of the listed special themes, Country or continental representation. We will finalize the program by December 31, 2026.
Presentations are SHORT, typically around 10-15 minutes, depending on the number of selected abstracts. Those selected will be given a specific time frame to speak, which will be strictly adhered to in the interest of the education exchange. Scheduled group discussion also occurs throughout the event. Presentations are to be delivered in English. Those selected to present will be offered no financial support or honoraria from APD to offset costs of attendance to the World Congress of Dermatology meeting.
Many thanks and I look forward to meeting many of you in Guadalajara!
Sincerely,
Erik Stratman, MD
President-Elect and Session Co-Chairperson
